Upcoming book events and hello 2024
So far my new year has consisted of being sick as a dog with something that wasn’t COVID or the flu (mysterious, bad), finally seeing OPPENHEIMER and THE CURSE (mysterious, good, too much of the one Safide bro in funny outfits). Oh, and SALTBURN, too. I wonder how much of their budget they burned using 10 seconds of “Mr. Brightside.” And is MGMT to Millennials in Film what “Fortunate Son” was to Boomers? I think so. Also, it kind of snowed in Bushwick and that was nice.
Anyway, I’m feeling better now and I’ve got book stuff to share! Two more book events on the near horizon.
New Jersey people - mark your calendars for my first NJ book event on the afternoon of Saturday, March 9. Details to be revealed soon, but this one is at a very cool place where you may have already ran into a WHERE ARE YOUR BOYS TONIGHT character or two.
For the New York City crowd… A few weeks ago I was flattered to be asked to do a book event by a place I respect so goddamn much. This one’s still being worked out, so I have to leave it mysterious for now. But it’s good!

And beyond events, a big ol’ *MORE TO COME, WATCH THIS SPACE* regarding my book for summer 2024 and beyond. I know I’m leaning into big, vague “local band posts to social media” energy here, but I’m truly excited. And after all, my book does contain lengthy accounts of what the dudes in Midtown and Bayside were doing online in 2002.
I’ll be writing more this year, both for publications and less formally. I’ve been wanting more and more to write outside of music, and on user-centric, micro-culturey platforms (like this one), so onwards with that.
Isn’t it great that Paramore isn’t actually breaking up?
peace!
